Désalpe
Désalpe/Almabtrieb is one of the most popular traditional festivities of the alpine Swiss mountains. After eating in the alpages for four months, the herds of cows descend through the villages of the lowland, decorated with flower crowns and ringing bells. This event is a way for herdsmen and herdswomen to show their work and passion as well as to sell local and regional products in a festive manner. Taking place in the months of September and October, Désalpe/Almabtrieb can be seen in St-Cergue, Charmey, Schwarzsee, Albeuve and Semsales.
