Ragkoutsaria

Ragkoutsaria is one of the most symbolic traditions observed in Northern Greece. It is annually held on the 7th of January and represents a "holy"way to exorcise the evil spirits away from Northern Greek cities or villages.
According to the Ragkoutsaria tradition, those who take part of it, have to wear a scary painted mask and beg from passersby for rewards. It is mostly performed in the city of Kastoria and Kozani.
