A Visit From University of Stirling

Welcome

We were delighted to have this lively and committed group of young people here, ready to learn and make a positive impact on our mission to promote cultural diversity, sustainable development and peacebuilding. This visit served as a significant occasion for cooperation, education and mutual development, demonstrating the effectiveness of group efforts to bring about constructive change.

Overview

Their visit was intended to provide them a better understanding of our efforts to promote peace and to engage them in our projects. The students participated in a range of activities all day long, such as interactive workshops, group discussions, and debates which highlighted the value of our three pillars and their unification. The students' excitement and unique opinions gave our work new meaning, which made the visit beneficial and eye opening for all parties.

This partnership is particularly significant because it demonstrates the ability of youth involvement to push for social change. The Stirling University students gave our work new life and enthusiasm by contributing their original perspectives and creative ideas. Their involvement highlighted the value of knowledge and experience sharing as well as cross-cultural exchanges in promoting cooperation and understanding between people. By collaborating, encouraged the following generation of leaders who are dedicated to creating a more inclusive and peaceful world.

Activities & Events

CD4Peace members engaged the students in a series of dynamic activities based on our three main pillars: cultural diversity (cultural appropriation vs. cultural appreciation), sustainable development (fast fashion), peace-building (transitional justice in Ethiopia).

All students shared their one word or phrase answers to the question, "What does peace mean to you?" on a piece of paper which were displayed together for a wholesome view.

To wrap up the event, Dr. Damian Etone gave a closing statement followed by a "soirée" while enjoying interesting conversations with the students.
